Buildings & Grounds Committee

The Buildings and Grounds Committee consists of six members elected by the congregation and a Council representative. The committee meets once a month form September through May on the first Monday of the month.

Any maintenance problems or concerns of the church, parsonage and surrounding grounds are addressed to the committee. It is then taken care of by the committee or addressed to the council for outside contractor approval if necessary.

The committee is responsible for:

  • Lawn mowing schedule
  • Spring clean up which involves raking, trimming shrubs, and general lawn cleanup
  • Fall clean up or work day for general repairs
  • Obtaining bids for projects that are out sourced such as snow plowing or other large projects. It is then turned over to the Council for approval upon the Committee’s recommendation
  • General repair of small things, such as changing light bulbs, fixing doors that stick, minor things that can be done without contracting out
  • Monthly inspection of the building

The committee also serves for coffee hour four times a year.
