Altar Guild

The Altar Guild of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ was organized on December 4, 1948. There were eleven charter members.

The purpose of the Altar Guild is to care for the Altar, be custodians of the altar parament hangings and communion ware, having the altar ready for each service. The Guild will also beautify the altar and sanctuary with flowers, fresh or silk.

Members are divided into three committees. Each committee serves every three months. Monthly the committee prepares communion for Sunday service as well as Chapel, when Chapel is held during summer and fall months. Flowers are placed on the altar and organ for each Sunday service.

The group meets the third Sunday of the month, September through May, following the morning service at 10:15 am in the Conference Room.

We welcome new members.
